About The Position

Position Overview: The X-Ray Technician / Radiologic Technologist Urology Clinic supports urology providers by performing diagnostic radiographic procedures in an outpatient urology clinic setting. This role ensures high-quality imaging, patient safety, regulatory compliance, and efficient clinic flow while providing compassionate patient care.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited radiologic technology program.
  • Current ARRT certification (or state-approved limited license, if applicable).
  • Michigan licensure (if applicable based on scope of practice).
  • CPR/BLS certification preferred.
  • Prior experience in an outpatient or specialty clinic setting preferred; urology experience a plus.
  • Strong understanding of radiographic positioning and anatomy related to urology imaging.
  • Excellent patient communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced outpatient environment.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to patient safety.
  • Ability to maintain professionalism and confidentiality at all times.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift and position patients as needed.
  • Manual dexterity to operate imaging equipment safely

Nice To Haves

  • CPR/BLS certification preferred.
  • Prior experience in an outpatient or specialty clinic setting preferred; urology experience a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Perform diagnostic X-ray procedures as ordered by urology providers, including but not limited to KUBs, abdominal imaging, and fluoroscopy-assisted procedures (if applicable and credentialed).
  • Prepare patients for imaging exams by explaining procedures, positioning patients appropriately, and ensuring patient comfort and safety.
  • Operate and maintain radiologic equipment according to manufacturer guidelines and safety standards.
  • Follow radiation safety protocols, including proper shielding and ALARA principles.
  • Verify imaging orders and patient identification prior to procedures.
  • Accurately document imaging performed in the electronic medical record (EMR).
  • Assist providers during in-office urologic procedures requiring imaging support when appropriate.
  • Maintain imaging room cleanliness and ensure supplies are stocked and available.
  • Perform routine quality control checks on X-ray equipment and report any malfunctions.
  • Comply with all federal, state, and clinic policies regarding radiologic services, HIPAA, and patient confidentiality.
  • Collaborate with clinical staff to support efficient patient flow and high-quality care.
