About The Position

The X-Ray & Medical Technologist is responsible for taking good quality X-ray images following CityMD X-ray protocol in an efficient and accurate manner. This includes capturing accurate and detailed documentation of the encounter into the EMR in a timely manner. The role involves performing common X-ray studies, using internal X-ray and care coordination software, facilitating necessary diagnostic tests, assisting physicians with medical procedures, and providing compassionate care to patients. The technologist will also assist with training new hires and maintain an accurate QA log book.

Requirements

  • Graduation from an accredited X-ray Technologist program.
  • 4-6 months experience as a X-ray Technologist.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills.
  • High attention to detail and ability to work independently.
  • Strong organizational, problem solving, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Functional and practical knowledge of various computer systems.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required at time of hire.

Responsibilities

  • Take good quality X-ray images following CityMD X-ray protocol.
  • Capture accurate and detailed documentation of encounters into the EMR.
  • Perform common X-ray studies in a reasonable amount of time.
  • Use internal X-ray and care coordination software for documentation.
  • Facilitate necessary diagnostic tests and referrals to medical specialists.
  • Assist physicians with medical procedures within the Scribe scope of practice.
  • Communicate with patients, pharmacies, and physicians under physician guidance.
  • Assist with CLIA waived tests and EKGs under supervision.
  • Maintain supplies for copying images to a CD for patients.
  • Keep an accurate and up-to-date QA log book.
  • Provide compassionate care to patients.
  • Assist Medical Assistants with facility stocking when needed.
  • Assist with training and acclimation of new hire X-ray techs and scribes.
