About The Position

The XCOMM Ops Cyber Instructor Developer will be responsible for designing, developing, and delivering advanced cyber operations training tailored to the unique demands of cross-communications operations. Requirements

  • Associate’s degree (STEM field) or approved equivalent experience (Journeyman)
  • Bachelor’s degree (STEM field) or approved equivalent experience (Senior)
  • Active Top Secret Security Clearance with SCI eligibility is required.
  • IAT level II certification required.
  • 3 years’ cyber-related duties / experience / roles. Examples include knowledge in command line interface across various operating systems, host/network analysis, forensic analysis, scripting languages, terrain mapping, network fundamentals, and/or familiarity of cyberspace defense actions and missions supporting USCYBERCOM (Journeyman)
  • 5 years’ cyber-related duties / experience / roles, such as knowledge in command line interface across various operating systems, host/network analysis, forensic analysis, scripting languages, terrain mapping, network fundamentals, and/or familiarity of cyberspace defense actions and missions supporting USCYBERCOM (Senior)
  • 4 – 6 years’ expeditionary/tactical communications or equivalent experience (Journeyman)
  • 5 – 8 years’ expeditionary / tactical communications or equivalent experience (Senior)
  • 200+ instructor podium hours or CCAF ISD certification and/or 400+ instructor hours (on podium) OR CCAF ISD certification (Senior)
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate in a clear, professional, and articulate manner.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills with high-level attention to detail.
  • Ability to analyze systems and procedures
  • Strong multitasking skills with the ability to manage multiple design streams across concurrent work effort.
  • Must be self-motivated and able to work well independently as well as on a multi-functional team.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information appropriately.

Responsibilities

  • Design, update, and maintain operational cyber training modules and materials, including lesson plans, practical exercises, and assessments, for XCOMM Ops trainees.
  • Ensure technical accuracy, relevance to mission needs, and consistency with evolving client standards and frameworks.
  • Develop training scenarios that simulate real-world incidents and threats to XCOMM operations.
  • Deliver in-depth, hands-on training to diverse audiences, including military operators, cyber analysts, and support teams.
  • Lead facilitation of classroom-based, virtual, or in-the-field training sessions, utilizing advanced instructional tools and methods.
  • Support XCOMM Ops teams by providing mission-critical insight into communications systems vulnerabilities, security protocols, and cyber risk mitigation strategies.
  • Conduct research on emerging cyber threats specific to XCOMM operations and integrate findings into the training program.
  • Actively participate in operational exercises and evaluations to provide technical expertise.
  • Develop assessment tools to evaluate trainee performance and proficiency.
  • Identify areas for improvement in student outcomes and adapt instructional materials accordingly.
  • Prepare after-action reports, lessons learned, and recommendations for incorporation into future training iterations.
  • Coordinate with technical writers, SMEs (Subject Matter Experts), and policy advisors to ensure training alignment with operational objectives.
  • Interface with program managers and client stakeholders to ensure training objectives and deliverables are met on schedule.
  • Assist with training solutions proposal development for contracts when required.
  • Other duties as assigned.
