The Radiologic Technologist plays a crucial role in performing radiographic examinations with a focus on patient care and safety. This position requires independent judgment and technical expertise to apply ionizing radiation for imaging diagnosis, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and protocols. The technologist will work closely with patients, physicians, and medical staff to deliver high-quality imaging services while maintaining a compassionate and respectful environment.

  • Perform radiographic examinations independently, following physicians' orders and safety regulations.
  • Assist patients in transferring to the examination table and ensure proper immobilization during procedures.
  • Verify patient identification and route studies to PACS for interpretation.
  • Maintain a daily log of patients seen and operate radiologic equipment for diagnostic imaging.
  • Monitor patient reactions and report any changes in physical or mental status to the appropriate personnel.
  • Educate patients about the procedures being performed and provide care with dignity and respect.
  • Obtain optimum quality images through proper anatomical positioning and radiologic techniques.
  • Carry out quality control checks on equipment and report deficiencies as needed.
  • Maintain cleanliness of equipment and working areas, practicing sterile techniques to prevent contamination.
  • Stay updated on technology and safety protocols, fulfilling continuing education requirements.
  • New York State Radiology License and ARRT Certification.
  • Excellent patient and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong knowledge of human anatomy and cross-section anatomy.
  • Ability to utilize proper positioning skills and imaging techniques effectively.
  • Experience with a variety of routine procedures and applications in radiology.
  • Commitment to maintaining continuing education credits and professional licenses.
  • Experience in multiple radiologic modalities.
  • Familiarity with PACS systems and scheduling software.
