About The Position
An established healthcare facility is seeking a skilled X-Ray Technologist for a 13-week contract assignment. The technologist will perform diagnostic radiographic procedures while ensuring patient safety, image quality, and compliance with regulatory standards.
Requirements
- Active New York State Radiologic Technologist License (required)
- ARRT (R) – American Registry of Radiologic Technologists, Radiography certification (required)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (required or preferred per facility)
Responsibilities
- Perform diagnostic X-ray procedures as ordered by providers
- Position patients accurately to obtain high-quality diagnostic images
- Operate and maintain radiographic equipment safely and effectively
- Ensure compliance with radiation safety standards (ALARA) and infection control protocols
- Verify patient identity and clearly explain imaging procedures
- Monitor patients during exams and respond appropriately to adverse reactions
- Document procedures accurately in EMR and PACS systems
- Collaborate with radiologists and the healthcare team to support optimal patient care
