About The Position

Assist the Directors of Patient Services and Office Managers in supporting the X-ray Techs. Serve as subject matter expert and Radiation Safety Officer to ensure compliance and quality standards are met. Serve as a working X-ray Tech while providing routine coverage.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED
  • ARRT or LMRT; ARRT preferred
  • One year experience in a health care setting; preferably orthopedics
  • Radiological Certification
  • Knowledge of governmental regulations and compliance requirements, including OSHA regulations.
  • Knowledge of computer systems and applications, including EMR and PACS.
  • Knowledge of customer service concepts and business methods.
  • Knowledge of organization policies, procedures, systems and objectives.
  • Skill in exercising initiative, judgment, problem solving and decision-making.
  • Ability to use interpersonal skills to establish/maintain relationships with patients and staff.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in writing and verbally.
  • Ability to walk frequently and stand for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to assist patients weighing up to 300 pounds.
  • Must have full range of motion.
  • Must have adequate visual acuity to read, the ability to interpret and understand written material.
  • Must have adequate hearing and speaking abilities to interact appropriately with others, including patients and co-workers.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine Quality Assurance checks for positioning in imaging of X-ray Techs.
  • Assists with policies and procedures and organizational needs applicable to X-ray Techs.
  • Assist with training of new hires and remedial training.
  • Assist with hiring of X-ray Techs to vet for skillset and participate in interviews.
  • Oversee Radiation Safety and ensure safety of staff and equipment following federal and state regulations.
  • Takes x-rays following established procedures for patient care and safety.
  • Knowledge and application of radiology guidelines.
  • Work with physician staff to ensure quality patient care and services are provided. Ensure compliance with clinic standards and OSHA regulations of quality patient care. This includes being available to answer medical questions for clinic and administrative staff.
  • Prepares patients for radiological procedures.
  • Processes radiology images.
  • Send x-rays to PACS by physician for reading and interpretation.
  • Ensures radiology equipment, including C-arm, across all locations are in good working condition, serviced adequately and reports malfunction to the Director.
  • Cooperates with inspections and compliance for radiology equipment and area.
  • Maintains adequate supplies for radiology services.
  • Assists with patient flow through clinic including rooming patients.
  • Follow job duties for clinic technician when needed in that capacity.
  • Responsible for knowing and applying doctor’s specific guidelines.
  • Maintains supplies and restocks rooms on prescribed schedule.
  • Travel to other locations for coverage is required.
  • Maintains strictest confidentiality
