Requirements

  • High School Diploma.
  • Completion of a formal radiologic technology training program in AMA approved school.
  • Requires registration as a Radiologic Technologist by the A.R.R.T.
  • Requires registration as a Certified Radiologic Technologist by the State.
  • Valid 'hands-on' CPR certification.
  • 3 years of Radiological Imaging experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Under the direct supervision of the Director of Radiology, Regional and/or site Manager.
  • Arranges patients for radiological and/or DEXA examinations.
  • Produces radiographs to aid in the diagnosis of medical problems.
  • Prevents patient from being exposed to unnecessary radiation.
  • Has knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices and procedures.
  • Required to set up and use all necessary diagnostic equipment for exam completion in general diagnostic and fluoroscopy areas.
  • Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job.
  • Works under immediate supervision.
  • Demonstrates competency in the performance of job related skills appropriate to his/her customer populations and departmental services while providing excellent customer service.
  • Utilizes and operates equipment and mechanical devices which provide for a functional, effective, and safe environment.
  • Adheres to policies, procedures, guidelines relative to departmental operations.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively with physicians, patients, and the public and be capable of establishing good working relationships with both internal and external customers.
  • Has knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices and procedures for CT.
  • Starts IVs for CT exams as applicable.
  • Assists the technologist with patient throughput, exam set-up, and injection materials.
  • Observe and learn CT procedures for patient screening, table set-up, positioning, and exam selection as directed by the technologist.
  • Enrollment in the Pulse Radiology CT Cross-Training course within 1 year of employment.
  • Willingness to move sites to obtain required CT procedures necessary to sit for CT Registry.
  • Completion of CT Registry within 2 years of start date.
