About The Position

As an NDT Level II - CT technician with High Energy Linac experience, you will play a crucial role in demonstrating the quality and reliability of our products and components through the application of advanced CT inspection techniques. Our Franklin Park Facility has 3 x-ray vaults dedicated to CT and includes, microfocus, minifocus, standard focus and high energy Linac systems. You will be responsible for performing CT inspections per written specifications, with a specific focus on components related to High Energy Linac applications. Interpretation per instruction, annotation, measurement and analysis experience in Volume Graphics Studio Max is a requirement. All activities are to take place in accordance with ISO 9001 and ASTM procedures and protocols. This job requires access to ITAR, Controlled and Export Control data requiring US citizenship or permanent green card holder. DOD security clearance is also a plus, but not required.

Requirements

US Citizenship with the ability to work on ITAR and export controlled components
Be onsite at the Varex, Franklin Park Illinois Facility.
Experience and understanding of radiography, CT, and x-ray
User of Volume Graphics Studio Max.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and precision.
Ability to work independently
High school diploma, with emphasis on science and math.
Ability to obtain Varex internal Level II status within 1 year of start date.
Minimum experience: 4 years as a certified NDT L2 inspector
Perform very heavy work that will require occasionally require the employee to lift/move items and equipment up to the OSHA limits (50 lbs), safely and effectively.
Lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, or moving heavy equipment and/or supplies occasionally.
Reaching above the shoulder occasionally.
Wear personal protective equipment (PPE) and handle physical exertion, such as long periods of standing, walking, bending, crouching, stretching, reaching, repetitive motion, or similar activities.
Work environments includes: exposure to chemicals, electrical current, high voltage electricity, proximity to moving mechanical parts, repetitive hand motion, and use of high radiation equipment.

Nice To Haves

Experience with Linacs is highly desirable.
Desired 1 year of relevant experience in CT inspections, with a preference towards High Energy Linac technology.
DOD security clearance is also a plus, but not required.

Responsibilities

Assist and perform CT inspections on a variety of components, ensuring adherence to industry standards and specifications, especially those related to High Energy Linac systems.
Prepare samples and parts for CT scanning following established written practice.
Process and reconstruct 3D volumes from 2D projection sets using Varex's Conebeam Software Toolkit
Use Volume Graphics Studio Max to Interpret and analyze CT scan data to identify and evaluate defects, anomalies, or irregularities in materials.
Document findings and support the generation of detailed inspection reports.
Collaborate with engineers and technicians to interpret results and suggest improvements Generate comprehensive inspection reports and documentation for internal and external stakeholders.
Maintain equipment and adhere to safety standards related to X-ray radiation.
Work within and following ISO-9001-2015, NAS 410, ASNT-SNT-TC-1A written practices.
