The position involves operating radiographic equipment to produce clinical diagnostic x-ray images as directed by physicians and performing routine diagnostic procedures according to established standards and practices. The job requires preparing patients and adjusting equipment for taking x-rays, positioning and instructing patients regarding procedures, and taking x-ray images of specified body parts as ordered. The role also includes using immobilization devices, lead protective devices, and automatic radiation shielding to ensure safety during procedures. Additionally, the position requires providing x-ray services in various hospital areas, including surgery and emergency rooms, and performing fluoroscopy procedures when necessary. The individual will also be responsible for processing images, maintaining department policies, and providing educational support to community-based Radiologic Technology programs.
