About The Position

As a X-ray Tech - Medical Assistant with CareNow, you will be part of an organization devoted to giving back to the community. This position is incentive eligible, and new hires may receive up to a $3,500 sign-on bonus. You will be responsible for providing expertise and championing patient care in a supportive team environment. Your role will include taking vital signs, collecting lab specimens, performing EKGs, administering IM injections, and performing all x-ray/imaging services according to provider's orders. You will also maintain patient records, assist with check-in/check-out, and keep patients informed of clinic progress.

Requirements

• 1+ year of clinical experience in a patient care setting is helpful.
• Experience using an EHR system is beneficial.
• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Graduate of an accredited school of Medical Assistants or completion of an approved program (BOTP) is required.
• Unlicensed Radiology Technician for Kansas registration, General Medical Radiology Technician (GMRT), Limited Medical Radiology Technician (LMRT), or Non-Registered Technician (NCT) license is required in state of residency.
• Current certification from the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) is preferred.
• Current BLS Certification is required within 30 days of start.
• Must obtain a Federal Breath Alcohol Screening Certification and Federal Drug Screening Certification within 3 months of employment or promotion.

Responsibilities

• Take vital signs, collect lab specimens, perform EKGs, and administer IM injections.
• Perform all x-ray/imaging services according to provider's orders and update patient charts accordingly.
• Collect patient history and document EHR appropriately.
• Apply splints, dressings, and bandages as needed.
• Assist with check-in/check-out when needed, including auditing charts.
• Maintain records and logs on activities including in-house lab work, drug screens, and lab work sent out to other labs.
• Keep patients and visitors informed of clinic progress.
