About The Position

This position is incentive eligible. The typical candidate is hired below midpoint of the wage range of $24.37 - $35.35 per hour. CareNow, part of HCA Healthcare, offers an exciting opportunity for X-ray Tech - Medical Assistant PRN. The role involves providing expertise and championing patient care in a supportive team environment.

Requirements

  • 1+ year of clinical experience in a patient care setting.
  • Experience using an EHR system.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Graduate of an accredited school of Medical Assistants or completion of an approved program (BOTP).
  • Radiological Technologist (RT) or Limited X-Ray Machine Operator (L XMO / LMRT) license required in state of residency.
  • Current certification from the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) preferred.
  • Current BLS Certification required within 30 days of start.
  • Must obtain Federal Breath Alcohol Screening Certification and Federal Drug Screening Certification within 3 months of employment or promotion.

Responsibilities

  • Take vital signs, collect lab specimens, perform EKGs, and administer IM injections.
  • Perform all x-ray/imaging services according to provider's orders and update patient charts accordingly.
  • Collect patient history and document EHR appropriately.
  • Apply splints, dressings, and bandages as needed.
  • Assist with check-in/check-out when needed, including auditing charts.
  • Maintain records and logs on activities including radiology, in-house lab work, drug screens, and lab work sent out to other labs.
  • Keep patients and visitors informed of clinic progress.
