About The Position

3rd Shift NDT Tech - X-Ray Operator Title: X-RAY, Level 2 Status: Hourly Shift: 3rd, 10:30pm-6:30am Reporting Relationship: Reports directly to Dept. 690 Supervisor Location: Mentor, OH Education: A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred, and may be substituted by experience. Personal Characteristics: Able to meet deadlines and be accountable for quality/ quantity. Able to work flexible hours with a history of dependability as demonstrated with strong attendance record. Comfortable using a team approach to problem solving. Have strong sense of urgency. Individual must be a motivated self-starter with the ability to work independently. Maintain a positive work atmosphere by behaving and communicating in a manner that gets along with customers, clients, co-workers and supervisors. Work Experience: Minimum of 1 year experience as an operator in a manufacturing environment. Previous casting experience is a plus. Principal Area of Responsibility: Test parts for defects, and deviations from specifications. May use precision measuring instruments and complex test equipment. Specific Duties: Incumbent must handle hazardous waste in accordance with the Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) and company policy. Perform system capability checks. Process parts per applicable specifications. Know practical theory and be familiar with and able to use manuals and source books for assistance in utilizing techniques. Keep area clean and adhere to safety procedures. Meet efficiency standards. Move inventory when working on X-ray inventory. Stock cartons of new film and box exposed film for x-ray storage. Perform additional duties assigned by department supervisor and/or Level III. Records on a daily basis all work performed and correct distribution of work time identifying same by operational codes. Must follow number routing card in sequence. Keeps work area clean, orderly, and in safe condition, following all safety rules. Maintain a positive work atmosphere by behaving and communicating in a manner that gets along with customers, clients, co-workers and supervisors. Any and all additional responsibilities as required or assigned. Physical and Mental Demands: Incumbent must physically and mentally perform the job demands as listed below. The ability to handle high stress associated with high activity with tight deadlines. Pass the visual acuity exam. Willing to devote personal time toward the study of material required to pass Level 1 exam.
