About The Position

CT TECHNOLOGIST -X-RAY TECH JOB DISCRIPTION AND DUTIES: • Interpreting the orders provided by the physician or other prescribing medical professional • Explaining what will happen during the CT scan to patients • Positioning patients properly to take the necessary images • Administering IVs that contain contrast dyes to enhance imaging • Examining images to ensure they’re usable • Updating patient medical information • Cleaning and maintaining CT scan equipment • Keeping inventory of CT scan supplies and making orders for supply restocks as required Will also help with X-rays as needed MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITES: • Deep familiarity with CT scan equipment • Basic knowledge of anatomy, biology and how to administer IVs • Problem-solving skills to troubleshoot issues with CT scan equipment performance • Observational skills to notice any problems with images • Strong oral communications skills to field patients’ questions and collaborate with other members of the care team • Organizational skills to maintain an orderly supply area • Mathematics skills to assist with contrast administration and maintain inventory • Computer skills to operate CT scan equipment, use e-mail and update medical records using health information systems software EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: Associate degree or equivalent in radiologic technology Valid Radiologic Technologist license from the state of Kentucky Registered Radiologic Technologist (RT) with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) Current BLS Certification Current BLS for Healthcare Provider CPR Qualifications
