This exciting opportunity is scheduled for Monday 8:30 a.m.–5:00 p.m. (8 hours), Wednesday 8:30 a.m.–4:30 p.m. (7.5 hours), and Friday 9:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m. (6.5 hours), with a 30-minute built-in clocked-out lunch, for a total of 22 scheduled hours per week. This position also offers the ability to cover sick and vacation days for other team members as needed. Missoula Bone & Joint's X-Ray Department team consists of professional Radiologic Technologists and Assistants who work hard to ensure patients have a great experience when visiting our clinic. The X-Ray Assistant is responsible for retrieving patients from exam rooms for imaging and returning them afterward, while engaging in general communication to support a positive patient experience. Additional responsibilities include general medical office tasks such as answering phones, calling patients, performing release of information in accordance with HIPAA regulations, and communicating with staff members via email and the EMR system. Your day as an X-Ray Assistant The X-Ray Assistant is responsible for supporting the radiology team by receiving and accurately communicating incoming X-ray orders to technologists, preparing patients for radiologic procedures by ensuring proper attire and readiness, and safely transporting patients to and from the imaging department. This role includes answering phone calls for imaging requests, sending, mailing, pushing, and importing imaging into the computer system, and maintaining organized workflow within the department. The X-Ray Assistant actively participates in continuing education opportunities and shares newly acquired knowledge with team members to promote ongoing professional development. Strict compliance with HIPAA, OSHA, and Red Flag Rules is required at all times. Additional duties may be assigned by the Department Supervisor to support departmental operations and patient care.
