About The Position

The Somerville Public Schools is now accepting applications from qualified educators for Academic Tutor positions during the intervention block of the school day (X-Block).

Requirements

• Experience teaching or knowledge of ELA or math
• Experience tutoring or working with students in grades 1-8
• Basic computer literacy

Responsibilities

• Provide academic intervention to small groups of students during X-Block
• Provide skill development in Math or ELA reflective of students' academic needs in order to assist students in attaining the DESE grade level standards;
• Incorporate best literacy and math practices into tutor sessions;
• Take direction and guidacne from theh classroom teacher
