About The Position

Participate and engage in conservation projects across the state of Wyoming.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• Pass FBI background check
• Ability to lift 50 lbs with or without a reasonable accommodation

Responsibilities

• Work in teams of six members with two crew leaders.
• Work cooperatively with and take direction from crew leaders and the Program Staff.
• Complete six, ten-day conservation projects around the state of Wyoming, living and working outdoors
• Complete one week of orientation at the before the start of the first project.
• Camping, cooking, work-related task completion, participating in environmental education, and group learning programs and various camp chores.
• Trail maintenance and construction, habitat restoration, development reclamation, construction, scientific survey, and various agricultural projects.
• Fulfill a total hourly commitment over the course of the term of service (May-August).
• Enroll in a one upper-division credit WCC class through the University of Wyoming.
• Complete a variety of trainings and orientations for the WCC program and its AmeriCorps affiliation.
• Complete a required 16-hour Wilderness First Aid course at no cost to the participant.
