About The Position

The WYNT Head Coach (U19-U20) at U.S. Soccer is responsible for developing and leading the Women's Youth National Team, focusing on educating and equipping young talents to prepare them for the Senior National Team. This role emphasizes collaboration, communication, and the implementation of U.S. Soccer's strategic pillars to foster a high-performance environment for players and staff.

Requirements

  • USSF 'A' License or higher (or comparable UEFA A).
  • At least five years of coaching experience within elite youth development.
  • Passion for working with and developing young players and staff.
  • Proven history of developing individual players.
  • Excellent organizational and leadership skills.
  • Capable of working in fast-paced and demanding environments.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient experience with Microsoft Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook) and video editing.
  • Understanding of child development and maturation.
  • Knowledge of talent identification.
  • Possess a growth mindset.
  • Ability to work as part of a wider coaching team.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the WYNT Head Coach for the U19/U20 teams and assist other Youth National Teams as needed.
  • Support the Women's National Team in camp when possible.
  • Create and maintain a top performance environment for the Women's Youth National Team.
  • Oversee individual development and performance for players and staff.
  • Deliver the vision, mission, and objectives of U.S. Soccer consistently to players and staff.
  • Implement USSF philosophies respecting ideas, language, structures, and processes.
  • Ensure all national team players have an up-to-date and robust Individual Development Plan (IDP).
  • Deliver excellence in line with the 'plan, perform, reflect, refine' model.
  • Collaborate with the Women's Head of Development teams and WNT Technical staff to create an aligned development environment.
  • Work with the Talent ID department to identify and assess high-potential players.
  • Contribute to the talent identification audit process with player insights.
  • Develop elite soccer players in an international context.
  • Deliver the US Player pathway document outlining areas of focus for all ages and stages of the program.
  • Engage in post-camp reviews and adopt personal development plans accordingly.
  • Evaluate the performance environment and suggest areas for improvement.
  • Complete goal setting and performance review discussions with staff annually.
  • Drive a culture of building outstanding players and relationships with clubs and colleges.
  • Support the US Soccer club engagement program with strategic visits.
