About The Position

The City of Baltimore is seeking a SCADA System Supervisor who will be responsible for planning and overseeing the installation and maintenance of the process control system for water and wastewater plants, distribution stations, and related facilities. This role includes the installation, maintenance, and repair of electronic, instrumentation, and hydraulic equipment, as well as programmable logic controllers in treatment plants and pumping stations. The SCADA System Supervisor will direct the activities of electronic maintenance and repair work units and will work under general supervision from an administrative superior. The position requires a conventional workweek, with the possibility of callback or overtime in emergencies. The work environment is primarily office-based, with occasional exposure to toxic chemicals and high voltage equipment, and requires minimal physical exertion.

Requirements

  • Associate of arts degree in computer science, instrumentation, or electronic technology from an accredited college or university.
  • Five years of experience in the installation, maintenance, and repair of electronic instrumentation equipment, with at least three years in enhancing and maintaining a process control system.
  • One year of supervisory experience, including responsibilities such as disciplining and evaluating performance.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering technology, or a related field (may substitute for two years of experience).
  • Additional experience in enhancing and maintaining a process control system may substitute for the college requirement.
