About The Position
New Leaf's West Valley Housing Assistance Center, located in Surprise, AZ, is dedicated to providing emergency housing solutions for families and individuals experiencing homelessness. The center features seven apartment-style units designed to offer a safe and supportive environment for those in need. As a Support Partner, you will play a crucial role in assisting residents by ensuring their needs are met and that they are aware of the resources available to them. This position requires a commitment to teamwork and the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with residents and colleagues alike. The Support Partner will work primarily from Tuesday to Saturday, from 4 PM to 12 AM, providing essential support during evening hours. Your responsibilities will include documenting significant and routine paperwork, answering and screening phone calls, and assisting with the orientation of new residents to the program and facility. You will also be responsible for ensuring that residents understand program rules, housekeeping requirements, and safety instructions, while maintaining a professional demeanor at all times. In addition to administrative tasks, you will participate in resident supervision, provide crisis interventions when necessary, and assist with meal preparation and cleanup. The role may also involve overseeing the Volunteer Meal Program and ensuring the cleanliness and maintenance of the agency's physical plant and equipment. A valid driver's license is required, as you may need to operate agency vehicles for transportation of residents or donations.
