This is an entry-level safety sensitive position located at the Water Resource Recovery Facility. Position requires close attention to detail, mechanical aptitude, safe vehicle operational skills, excellent attendance, and shift work. Under direct supervision, following all safety policies and procedures, perform all required activities in operation and/or maintenance of equipment and buildings at the WRRF. Technology Knowledge Executime, Missions123, SCADA, Microsoft Office, Outlook, Excel, and Word. Reporting, relationships, work assignments, and work schedules may be subject to change to meet City needs or operational requirements. Attendance at work and the ability to get along with the public, supervisors, and co-workers are essential elements of this position. Other duties may be assigned. Understands, communicates, and follows oral and written instructions. Attains knowledge of wastewater treatment operation including, government regulations, discharge permit requirements, proper collection of water samples, basic analytical wastewater analysis, and data entry for regulatory and in-house reporting. Monitors plant equipment, gauges, meters, dials, graphs, and assist in basic maintenance and equipment operation to ensure permit compliance. Maintains plant buildings, grounds, and vehicles for the department. Will be required to perform shift work, work on weekends, holidays, and periodic stand by status for emergencies. Follows established safety policy while applying proper techniques in operation and maintenance of wastewater equipment. This includes dump trucks, loaders, backhoe, forklift, and sweeper.
