About The Position

The Part-Time Writing Tutor position at the Student Success Writing Center on the Gainesville Campus is designed for individuals who are dedicated and knowledgeable in writing instruction. This role focuses on assisting students in developing their writing skills across various disciplines, both in-person and virtually. The tutor will engage with students to enhance their writing capabilities and foster a supportive learning environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-on-one and small group tutoring sessions to support students in writing across the curriculum.
• Assist students in improving writing structure, grammar, clarity, and argumentation.
• Utilize virtual tutoring platforms and technology to conduct online sessions effectively.
• Implement study skill techniques to help students develop strong academic habits.
• Support students with learning differences by employing appropriate instructional strategies.
• Maintain a positive and encouraging learning environment.
• Communicate effectively with students, faculty, and staff to enhance student success.
• Other duties as assigned.
