About The Position

A Therapist is responsible for specific clinical services to assigned adults, youth, and families so that they may become healthy, independent and productive members of their communities. A Therapist is expected to exercise professional judgment and discretion as a significant practitioner in the successful integration of treatment for clients. For Wraparound staff, all training requirements per DMH contract must be completed within the first year of employment. A Therapist works designated shifts under the direct supervision of the Clinical Supervisor. Salary Range - BBS Therapist: $75,001 - $90,000 Licensed Therapist : $90,001 - $95,000

Requirements

  • Valid California license as a LCSW, MFT, PhD, or PsyD; or master’s degree and current registration with the California Board of Behavioral Sciences as an Associate MSW or MFT Intern, LPCC or APCC with 6 semester units or 9 quarter units focused specifically on the theory and application of marriage and family therapy in each license renewal cycle.
  • Work experience in a comparable mental health setting.
  • Valid California Driver's License, current vehicle insurance and a good driving record.

Responsibilities

  • Has a willingness to accept a variety of cases and conducts client outreach and engagement with other Intensive Services Team members to enroll all eligible participants referred for intensive services.
  • Independently performs intake assessments and formulates diagnoses and case conceptualizations using a culturally competent approach.
  • Regularly identifies and completes data outcome elements in a timely manner.
  • Accurately identifies and builds on client strengths to support their development.
  • Provides individual, family, and group therapy using evidence-based psychotherapy interventions, along with case management as needed.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of available resources and makes appropriate referrals.
  • Demonstrates understanding and application of clinical theory, interventions, and treatment concepts.
  • Demonstrates respect for each individual, including their differences and cultural background.
  • Travels independently to various environments and transports clients as needed (e.g., buildings with stairs, communities, schools).
  • Collaborates regularly with staff, clients, caregivers, and other members of the clinical team.
  • Maintains appropriate boundaries and upholds legal and ethical standards related to mental health services while fostering professional partnerships.
  • Solves problems independently with minimal supervisory direction.
  • Demonstrates strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Submits thorough documentation, including initial assessments, progress notes, and records reflecting collaboration with treatment team members.
  • Completes timely documentation of all client contacts and maintains productivity standards in accordance with agency tier system and internal policies.
  • Meets and maintains field percentage standards as required by contract and internal policies.
  • Ensures client safety by providing direct crisis intervention and therapeutic guidance; participates in a 24/7 on-call crisis response system and communicates critical issues promptly to the supervisor and team.
  • Attends and participates in meetings, group supervision, case presentations, and required trainings and conferences.
  • Maintains strict confidentiality of all client records and information.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned by the supervisor.
