About the position
The Wrangler will provide guests with a safe, fun, and meaningful horsemanship experience through trail rides, mounted instruction, and ground classes. This position will also care and feed the horses and maintain cleanliness in the arena and barn.
Responsibilities
- Teach basic safety and 'how to ride' rules as assigned. Rotate through Western, English and Trailride horsemanship classes.
- Lead and supervise trail rides.
- Share responsibility for care and feeding of horses.
- Responsible for up-keep of arena and barn areas.
- Assist in other program areas as assigned by the Horsemanship Coordinator.
- Ride horses and/or drive wagons.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Belief that Jesus Christ is Lord and Savior.
- Is a committed Christian who is dedicated to continued spiritual growth and development.
- Prayerfully seeks God's will in their own lives and in their ministry at CRISTA.
- Engages our ministry including staff and colleagues through prayer and participation in spiritual practices.
- Affirms, aligns with and supports CRISTA's Statement of Faith and Christian Community Representative Statement.
- Conducts themselves in a manner which reflects well on CRISTA Ministries.
- Demonstrates the values of a CRISTA leader.
- At least one year of experience working with youth or adults.
- American Red Cross CPR/First Aid Certification or equivalent.
- CHA Instructor Certification.
Nice-to-haves
- At least one year of college.
- Two years of experience working with youth or adults.
- Proficiency in Word, Excel, and Outlook.
