The schedule consists of 2x 8 hour shifts one week and 3x 8 hour shifts the other week, with every Friday required and flexibility on the other days. The pay range is $37.00-50.00/hour, based on experience.

Requirements

• Current New York State RN License/Registration
• Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) required
• Certified Wound-Ostomy Nurse (CWON) required
• BLS (Basic Life Support) Certification
• Maintains a minimum of 30 hours of continuing education
• Good communication skills and skilled in customer service
• Minimum of three (3) years of Clinical RN experience
• Wound/Ostomy experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Provides education services to nursing staff in preparing for contemporary practice and supporting them in acquiring the knowledge and skills for patient education related to wound/ostomy care.
• Utilizes theory-based practice to include nursing care to hospitalized patients with complex wounds and ostomies.
• Performs assessments and develops treatment plans to optimize wound healing.
• Serves as part of an interdisciplinary team providing education, support, and continuity of care throughout the various stages of treatment and follow-up.
• Demonstrates high-level critical thinking skills and excellent judgment.
• Innovates and creates clinical educational programs in specialty areas.
• Functions as a clinical expert in wounds, ostomy, and continence care.
