JOB TYPE Classification: Non Exempt Supervises Positions: JOB SUMMARY The Wound Care Specialist Nurse is responsible for achieving standards of care, collaborating with physicians, managers, clinical coordinators, and other team members to assess, plan, implement and evaluate individualized patient care in accordance with the current policies and procedures. Responsible for ongoing quality, productivity, and efficiency in Wound Ostomy Care Services.

Requirements

  • 4 Year/Bachelor’s Degree required. BS or BSN required.
  • 3 years of experience in clinical nursing required.
  • Current RN licensure in applicable state required.
  • Certification in wound/ostomy care within two years required.
  • Ability to successfully complete generic and department-specific skills validation and competency testing.
  • Proficient communicative, auditory, and visual skills.
  • Attention to detail and ability to write legibly.
  • Ability to lift/push/pull 100 lbs. For any weight over 35 lbs., use Safe Handling Equipment.

Nice To Haves

  • Completion of Enterostomal Therapy program preferred.
