About The Position

The Wound Care Technician at the Center for Wound Healing & Hyperbaric Medicine plays a crucial role in providing direct patient care for individuals undergoing wound care treatments and hyperbaric oxygen therapy. This position involves close collaboration with healthcare professionals to ensure patient safety and effective treatment, as well as responsibilities related to patient transport and documentation.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Currently Licensed/Certified Emergency Medical Technician (EMT).
  • 2+ years of medical experience as a licensed or certified health provider preferred.
  • Valid Driver's License with a positive driving history.
  • Current BLS certification from an approved agency.
  • Proficient computer skills and experience in clinical documentation and EMR navigation.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Certified Hyperbaric Technologist (CHT) preferred.
  • Other medical certifications such as Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA).

Responsibilities

  • Perform direct patient care under the supervision of physicians and RNs, including taking vitals and documenting in EMR.
  • Measure wounds and take photographs for medical records.
  • Assist physicians and RNs with wound care procedures within the scope of practice.
  • Clean and stock patient care areas, maintaining a safe and organized environment.
  • Communicate findings to the safety director before treatments.
  • Participate in safety drills and quality improvement programs.
  • Provide patient education regarding wound care and hyperbaric therapy.
  • Maintain compliance with safety policies and procedures related to hyperbaric environments.
  • Document patient information accurately and timely according to organizational guidelines.
  • Coordinate patient scheduling and obtain clinical documentation as needed.
  • Transport patients to and from appointments as required.
