About The Position
The Wound Care Nurse at Alpha Wound Care Solutions & Wellness LLC is responsible for providing specialized wound care and treatment to patients of all ages, with a particular focus on pediatrics. This role involves conducting thorough triage assessments to evaluate the severity and urgency of wound care needs, ensuring that patients receive timely and appropriate care. The nurse will perform laboratory tests and interpret the results to inform treatment plans, utilizing their expertise in wound care techniques to deliver high-quality patient care. In addition to direct patient care, the Wound Care Nurse will be responsible for documenting patient information and tracking progress using electronic health record systems, such as AdvancedMD. Blood sampling will be a necessary part of the role, requiring proficiency in phlebotomy. The nurse will also play a crucial role in educating patients and their families about wound care techniques, prevention strategies, and self-care practices to promote healing at home. Maintaining a clean and sterile environment is essential to promote infection control, and the nurse will be expected to adhere to strict protocols in this regard. The position requires a valid nursing license in the state of Virginia and a minimum of three years of experience in wound care, preferably in an acute care setting. Strong communication skills are vital for effective interaction with patients, families, and other healthcare team members, ensuring a collaborative approach to patient care.
