Key Position Details: Allina Health Minneapolis Heart Institute - Vascular Wound Care Clinic is seeking a Wound Care Nurse Practitioner to join the practice. .8 FTE position. No weekends, no holidays, no call. Outpatient position. This role will provide services at our Minneapolis location. Team provides advanced wound care therapies for the full scope of wounds. EMR: Epic is one of the most comprehensive electronic health record (EHR) systems in the nation.
Requirements
- Master's degree - Completion of accredited Nurse Practitioner program
- Licensed Registered Nurse - MN Board of Nursing required upon hire.
- Certified Nurse Practitioner - ANCC or AANP certification within specialty required upon hire.
- BLS certification required within 180 days of hire.
- Drug Enforcement Administration upon hire required.
Nice To Haves
- New graduates may be considered.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in wound care preferred.
Responsibilities
- Completes comprehensive patient assessments.
- Orders and interprets medical diagnostics in tandem with attending physician.
- Prescribes medications, treatments, therapy and medical equipment.
- Conducts patient education when working to manage chronic illness or wellness care.
- Refers for specialty care when determined.
- Consults with physician when patient needs outside of Physician Assistant scope of practice, diagnosis or treatment plan is unclear.
- Promotes communication within the team and other interdisciplinary health care staff.
- Acts as resource to members of the team.
