About The Position

The Mainframe Specialist Solutions Architect at AWS is responsible for helping customers modernize their Mainframe applications and migrate to the AWS cloud. This role requires a blend of technical expertise, business acumen, and customer engagement skills to drive successful cloud migration strategies and solutions. The architect will act as a trusted advisor, ensuring customers maximize their cloud investment while providing feedback to AWS product teams to influence future developments.

Requirements

• 7+ years of design, implementation, or consulting in applications and infrastructures experience
• 5+ years of specific technology domain areas (e.g. software development, cloud computing, systems engineering, infrastructure, security, networking, data & analytics) experience
• 5+ years of infrastructure architecture, database architecture and networking experience
• 5+ years management of technical, customer facing resources
• 5+ years of Mainframe application modernization experience and understand and implement GenAI solutions

Nice To Haves

• Experience architecting/operating solutions built on AWS
• Experience migrating or transforming legacy customer solutions to the cloud

Responsibilities

• Represent the voice of the customer; bring customer feedback to product teams to influence feature development and future product roadmap.
• Provide advanced technical knowledge with Mainframe application modernization aligned GTM teams to unblock our customers' largest and most critical business challenges.
• Act as a thought leader sharing best practices through forums such as AWS blogs, whitepapers, reference architectures and public-speaking events such as AWS Summit, AWS re: Invent, etc.
• Develop innovative solutions for Mainframe modernization with GenAI technologies.
• Partner with Business Development teams to define the technical components of best in class GTM concepts, solutions, and initiatives.
• Develop and support an AWS internal community of technical subject matter experts worldwide. Create field enablement materials for the broader SA population, to help them understand how to integrate Amazon Web Services solutions into customer architectures.
