American Heritage Schools of Broward County are currently accepting applications for World Languages Teachers for the 2025-2026 school year. The subjects include Spanish, French, and Mandarin, with a preference for candidates who have Advanced Placement (AP) experience, although training will be provided for qualified candidates. The classroom teacher is responsible for educating and supporting students to help them reach their learning targets. Teachers must be content area experts who make sound instructional decisions, create and maintain a learning environment where positive relationships are built, and establish routines and procedures to foster collective responsibility. Teachers are tasked with providing rich learning tasks for intellectual engagement, assessing students formatively and summatively, and providing feedback to enhance academic achievement. They must demonstrate mastery of content knowledge and ensure a high-quality learning experience by planning and implementing purposeful and innovative learning tasks. Following the AHS curriculum framework, teachers will articulate instructional purposes and learning outcomes, design structured lessons focused on student engagement and critical thinking, and curate resources that align with learning outcomes. In addition, teachers are expected to enter all lesson activities, assignments, and assessments into the school's learning management system weekly, monitor student understanding frequently, and assess learning through various measures. They will provide timely feedback to students and parents, differentiate learning tasks according to student needs, and maintain a productive physical environment. Teachers will also communicate proactively with parents and contribute to the school's curriculum by sharing resources and feedback with colleagues. Professional development and participation in required events are also part of the role.
