About The Position

Mt Hope High School Portuguese Teacher Overview As a high school World Language Portuguese Long Term Substitute Teacher, your role is to educate and inspire students in the field of language. You will be responsible for teaching World Language, specifically Portuguese. A dual certification with Portuguese/Spanish is preferred.

Requirements

  • Valid RI teaching certification, secondary world Language
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to engage and motivate students
  • Organizational and time management skills.
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for teaching and inspiring young minds.

Nice To Haves

  • A dual certification with Portuguese/Spanish is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and Deliver Lessons: Develop engaging lesson plans that align with the curriculum and educational standards. Use a variety of teaching methods, such as lectures, discussions, group activities, and multimedia presentations, to cater to different learning styles.
  • Assess Student Performance: Evaluate student progress through assignments, projects, quizzes, and exams. Provide constructive feedback to help students improve their understanding and skills. Keep track of grades and maintain accurate records.
  • Create a Positive Learning Environment: Foster a supportive and inclusive classroom environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, sharing ideas, and collaborating with their peers. Encourage critical thinking, creativity, and teamwork.
  • Stay Updated with Industry Trends: Stay abreast of the latest developments in the business, marketing, and broadcasting industries. Attend professional development workshops, conferences, and seminars to enhance your own knowledge and skills.
  • Collaborate with Colleagues: Work closely with other teachers and staff members to coordinate curriculum, share resources, and promote interdisciplinary learning opportunities. Participate in department meetings and school-wide initiatives.
