About The Position

As the High School Teacher at Veritas Prep High School, you will deliver engaging and rigorous instruction that prepares students for success in college-level coursework. You will teach a comprehensive curriculum, integrating key topics and employing relevant case studies and projects that resonate with students' experiences, while fostering their skills as critical thinkers. You will work collaboratively with a team to create an inclusive environment where students of all backgrounds feel valued and supported, emphasizing student participation, discussion, and leadership. In addition, you will partner with content and grade-level colleagues, as well as higher education partners, to ensure alignment and coherence in objectives, enhancing our collective efforts to prepare students for the next stage of their educational journey. You’ll also: Teach assigned classes, aligning curriculum with interdisciplinary goals and cross-cutting literacy skills when appropriate. Teach a seminar course focused on college, career, and life readiness, utilizing relevant platforms and resources aligned with postsecondary partners. Leverage and continually deepen your content knowledge to create high-quality, effective lessons. Learn, contribute to, and implement school-wide routines and systems that promote a smooth, efficient learning environment. Use data to inform decisions and support the academic growth of students in the classroom. Integrate college and career readiness skills into your lessons and daily interactions with students. Build strong relationships and actively communicate with parents, families, and community partners. Engage in learning about and supporting initiatives related to anti-racism, diversity, equity, and inclusion in education. Contribute to fostering a student-centered culture by providing opportunities for student feedback and leadership. Actively engage in ongoing professional development to enhance your teaching practices.

Nice To Haves

  • One to three years of teaching experience preferred.
  • Massachusetts DESE Elementary Licensure Preferred, or eligibility to achieve Highly Qualified status within one year of employment, demonstrated by: a passing score on the Communications and Literacy Skills (Reading and Writing) MTEL, and a passing score on the History MTEL (or equivalent), and Sheltered English Immersion (SEI) endorsement.

  • Veritas Prep offers competitive salaries and comprehensive benefit packages that include the following:
  • Salary Range for this position is $58,000-$100,000 exclusive of fringe benefits. If hired, your final base salary will be determined based on factors such as skills, education, and/or experience. In addition to those factors, we believe in the importance of pay equity and consider internal equity of our current team members as part of any final offer. Keep in mind, the above range is the full base salary range for this position. Hiring at the maximum of the range would not be typical in order to allow for future and continued salary growth.
