About The Position

The Shop Technician - Drilling Technology at Expro is responsible for maintaining and inspecting drilling equipment, ensuring functionality and compliance with maintenance programs. This role involves hands-on tasks such as assembling, disassembling, and cleaning tools, as well as loading and unloading equipment under the supervision of the Shop Manager/Supervisor. The technician will also support workflow organization and adhere to safety and operational procedures.

Requirements

• Experience or knowledge of oilfield drilling systems preferred.
• Ability to read and use manuals, guidelines, drawings, and specifications.
• Mechanically inclined with a strong understanding of equipment functionality.
• Familiarity with forklift operation.

Responsibilities

• Maintain equipment according to the current maintenance program.
• Inspect, assemble, disassemble, and check the functionality of equipment.
• Load and unload equipment as per instructions from the Shop Manager/Supervisor.
• Paint and clean tools as needed, including disassembling and steam cleaning.
• Dress tools to ensure they are in good working order and meet specifications.
• Stencil tools and grind them using handheld equipment.
• Sweep and maintain the work area, ensuring tools and equipment are organized.
• Complete and maintain build and strip reports accurately.
• Collaborate with the DTD Ops coordinator for daily tasks and forecasts.
• Learn and enforce 5S initiatives to establish smooth workflow.
