About The Position

Fastly's Employee Experience team is on a mission to provide an engaging and motivating employee experience where every Fastlyan feels informed, connected, and valued. We design, curate, and deliver global programs and experiences that fuel employee success, which ultimately drives Fastly's success. This position will be responsible for the physical and experiential environment in our company headquarters in San Francisco. In addition to executing our team strategy in San Francisco, you will collaborate across the Employee and Workplace Experiences team. You will contribute to event programming and other employee engagement projects. We are a dynamic team working to reimagine the future of work at Fastly.

Requirements

  • 2-3 years prior experience in any of the following: event planning, an administrative role, office management, facilities management or other hospitality/customer service experience.
  • You're a problem solver. If you've never done it before, you jump in head first. You are proactive, resourceful and accountable.
  • You are comfortable reporting to a remote manager and capable of operating autonomously within standard guidance.
  • You have exemplary communication skills, with the ability to build relationships and communicate effectively with employees at all levels of the organization.
  • You pride yourself on being adaptable and comfortable with change.
  • You possess an aptitude for staying focused on priorities in a fast-paced environment and pride yourself on your ability to manage the finest of details.
  • Skilled at adapting to project constraints and resolving problems on your own; ability to work independently.
  • You have good attention to detail.
  • Bachelor's degree, preferred.
  • Excellent computer skills including Google Workspace, JIRA, Slack and Zoom.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure the San Francisco workplace is highly organized and runs smoothly.
  • Maintain a high-functioning and efficient office environment to boost employee satisfaction and support productivity by conducting regular checks throughout the day.
  • Oversee all purchasing to ensure catering, snacks, beverages, and other supplies are stocked.
  • Act as first point of contact for all internal and external visitors.
  • Proactively maintain an optimal workplace environment, identifying any repairs, maintenance, or updates as required.
  • Collaborate with facilities coordinator to liaise with workplace vendors, including building management, contractors, and janitorial staff.
  • Collaborate with facilities coordinator to provide general support across various departments on topics including event setup, onsite team meetings, meeting/conference room technology etc.
  • Prioritize and complete ad-hoc projects and assignments in a thorough, accurate, and timely manner.
  • Support the onboarding programme for new employees, ensuring a smooth and positive integration into the company.
  • Respond to employee feedback and inquiries through Jira.
  • Create an engaging employee experience for Fastly employees that is aligned with company objectives and employee experience goals to foster a positive and inclusive workplace culture.
  • Plan and execute social events for San Francisco-area employees (i.e. holiday parties, Fastly traditions, and milestone celebrations).
  • Collaborate with teammates on global and virtual events, experiences and programs, as well as senior stakeholders.
  • Partner with San Francisco site lead and EX Leadership on employee engagement activities.
  • Ensure fiscal responsibility by tracking office operations spend, planning all events within budget, and submitting expenses in accordance with company guidelines and policies.
