The role of the US Working Capital Controller (WCC) is pivotal in helping partners manage their practices through effective matter management and pricing support. The WCC is responsible for providing monthly reporting on current, life-to-date, and estimates to complete for all matters, which necessitates active engagement with partners and matter managers throughout the transaction lifecycle. The WCC also ensures that deal teams maintain current timesheets, sets and monitors budgets, coordinates client reporting, and provides general pricing support. Additionally, the WCC acts as the primary liaison for US Partners and fee earners, ensuring timely and accurate billing in compliance with all agreed terms and regulations. In this role, the WCC will manage a portfolio of partners, including those with complex practice areas, and will be expected to deputize for the Finance Practice Manager. While the position does not entail direct line-management responsibilities, it involves dotted line relationships with other WCCs, including supervision and delegation of tasks as appropriate. The WCC will work closely with various stakeholders, including the US Head of Pricing and Commercial Management, US CFO, and Shared Service Teams, to uphold the integrity of revenue accounting controls and support the overall financial health of the firm.
