About The Position

Kinship Community Food Center is recruiting Workforce Trainees from our community to be part of our team! Paid training and experience in the Culinary, Café, & Hospitality fields Opportunity for 12- 18 months of paid work 32-35 total hours per week, first shift between 7am and 5pm with potential Saturday hours Take home around $2,000 monthly Get paid while you figure your stuff out! On-the-clock, time toward: Group work to transform pain into strength. Individual coaching and support around life goals and stability, including navigating benefits, housing, and mental health resources. Job readiness (IT training, resume building, job interviewing, etc.) Budget training and an opportunity for a 3 to 1 matching IDA bank account towards a long-term financial goal such as debt repayment or vehicle purchase (up to a $6,000 match) Job Program Requirements: Interest in culinary and hospitality and a willingness to work across multiple program sites, including the café, community center, urban farm, and neighborhood initiatives. Commitment to personal growth: weekly goal setting, challenging yourself socially and emotionally, developing future career plans Dedication to timeliness, attendance, and sobriety Flexibility requires some night and weekend hours Considerable physical activity. Ability to operate commercial kitchen appliances.
