The Senior/ Lead Workforce Planning and Modeling Consultant is responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive workforce planning strategy that aligns with Hiscox's long-term business objectives. This role will utilize advanced modeling techniques to analyze workforce trends, forecast staffing needs, and identify gaps in skills and capacity across the organization. As a senior role this individual will collaborate with HR, Finance, and department heads to ensure the workforce is optimized for both current operations and future growth, maintaining operational efficiency and regulatory compliance within the insurance industry.

  • Lead the design and implementation of workforce planning models to forecast short- and long-term staffing needs based on business growth, regulatory changes, and industry trends.
  • Develop and maintain workforce analytics, leveraging data-driven insights to recommend optimal staffing levels, skills gaps, and talent acquisition strategies.
  • Use predictive modeling techniques to identify future workforce needs, supporting proactive talent management and succession planning initiatives.
  • Collaborate with HR, Finance, and department leaders to integrate workforce planning into annual budgeting, strategic planning, and business continuity processes.
  • Develop and maintain workforce dashboards that provide real-time insights into staffing, turnover, and labor costs, enabling data-informed decision-making.
  • Evaluate and recommend technologies and tools to enhance workforce planning and analytics capabilities.
  • Analyze the impact of automation, AI, and other technological advances on the workforce, providing recommendations for reskilling and redeployment strategies.
  • Identify and mitigate risks related to workforce shortages or surpluses, proposing strategies to maintain operational efficiency.
  • Lead cross-functional teams in scenario planning to prepare for various operational challenges, including economic shifts, regulatory changes, and market disruptions.
  • 10+ years of experience in workforce planning, data modeling, and analytics, preferably within the insurance or financial services industry.
  • Experience leading workforce planning initiatives at a senior level, including collaborating with HR, Finance, and Operations teams.
  • Demonstrated expertise in workforce modeling and advanced analytics to forecast staffing needs, address talent gaps, and support strategic decision-making.
  • Strong understanding of the insurance industry's regulatory environment and labor market trends.
  • Proven ability to leverage workforce planning tools and systems to drive operational efficiencies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a track record of presenting workforce insights to senior leadership.
  • Master's degree in Business Analytics, Data Science, or Human Resources Management is preferred.
  • Certifications such as Certified Workforce Planning Professional (CWPP) or related credentials are an added advantage.
