About The Position

This position reports to the Director, Human Resources to implement, maintain and sustain early talent recruiting and programs for the northern PPC companies. This position will provide support for recruiting, related instruction curricula, on-the-job Learning (OJL) and establishing and maintaining close relationships with public and private institutions to hire top talent for the company. Conduct business in accordance with PPC and Pieper Electric, Inc. mission and vision statements.

Requirements

  • This position requires a focused professional with a great attention to detail.
  • Must have a desire to work in a team-based environment and contribute immediately.
  • Associate's Degree required
  • 1-3 years of experience in early career recruiting, apprenticeship administration, and construction industry preferred.
  • Highly customer-service oriented & team player; ability to create strong relationships with all clients/customers.
  • Valid driver’s license and insured personal transportation is also required.
  • Positive safety attitude and high personal integrity.
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, and presentation skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in education, human resources, or similar discipline preferred.
  • Knowledge of recruiting and organizational development techniques preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Develop relationships with the IBEW Local Business Agents and JATC offices to partner with these individuals on behalf of Pieper Electric.
  • Receive calls from the public inquiring about working in a union position and how to apply to the various unions and positions.
  • Identify coursework and related instruction that can be brought in-house to be utilized as CEU opportunities for the field workforce on a regular basis
  • Identify and apply for state/local grants that may be applicable to the businesses
  • Visit talent source locations, creating and maintaining relationships, and participating in career fairs at high schools, technical colleges, universities and colleges.
  • Assist with Project Management Trainees, Intern recruitment and other technical positions needed at branch level.
  • Develop and maintain an intern program that drives early talent growth and development year over year to create a pipeline for early career professional talent.
  • Develop, and refine, the Project Management Trainee full-time entry-level program for early career professional development, and suggest other areas of the workforce for early career development programs
  • Work closely with hiring managers to help forecast intern and other early career needs and determine the proper related instruction.
  • Work with schools, non-profits to promote careers in construction and help develop talent pipelines.
  • Attend trade association and advisory board meetings; participate in skills challenge events.
