About The Position
The Workforce Development Specialist is responsible for promoting public safety and reducing recidivism by preparing offenders for success through a continuum of services and supervision. This role involves collaboration with state and local partners from the time the inmate enters prison through their transition and reintegration into the community. The specialist prepares incarcerated inmates for reentry employment by coordinating and promoting various workforce development programs, including the Federal Fidelity Bonding program and the Work Opportunity Tax Credit. The position also includes developing and delivering programming related to building employability skills, collaborating with workforce development agencies, and assisting in the coordination of job/resource fairs and mock interview events.
