About The Position

The Worker’s Compensation Care Coordinator plays a vital role in supporting and demonstrating IMA's core values, with a strong emphasis on diversity, equity, and inclusion. This position involves communicating with injured employees, employers, and insurance adjusters, monitoring workers' compensation indemnity claims, and coordinating client staff regarding work comp reporting, guidelines, and procedures. The coordinator will interact professionally with clients and injured employees through various communication channels and maintain a proactive approach to claim resolutions. Responsibilities also include advocating for timely resolutions of claims, maintaining strong client relationships, and developing knowledge of IMA systems and Carrier Interface Systems. The role requires arranging meetings with employers to discuss open claims and assisting on various claims projects as assigned.

Requirements

  • 2 to 5 years of similar or related experience
  • Computer Systems skills
  • Systems skills - Applied Epic, Carrier websites
  • Experience with MS Office products preferred/required (specifically PowerPoint, Outlook, Word, and Excel)
  • Limited travel required (10-15%)
  • A two-year college degree or completion of a specialized course of study at a business or trade school or equivalent work experience
  • Prior work comp claim experience preferred
  • Strong communication skills and basic mathematical skills
  • Ability to discuss and solve claim problems with clients and insurance carriers

  • Coordinates and educates client staff regarding work comp reporting, guidelines, and procedures
  • Interacts professionally and timely with injured employees and clients via email, phone, and in-person
  • Maintains a proactive approach focusing on claim resolutions and strategies
  • Advocates for the timely resolution of workers' compensation claim matters for clients
  • Communicates pertinent claim information on a timely basis to internal and external clients
  • Maintains strong relationships with clients
  • Develops strong working knowledge of IMA systems and Carrier Interface Systems
  • Demonstrates technical insurance and business acumen
  • Arranges and conducts meetings with employers to discuss open work comp claims
  • Develops strong relationships with internal and external clients
  • Assists on Claims Projects, reports, loss runs, or other tasks as assigned
  • Expands knowledge and expertise in all lines of coverage
  • Handles additional accounts from a workers' compensation advocacy perspective
