About The Position

Georgia Spine Orthopaedics & Neurology is a Comprehensive Spine and Orthopedics Care Provider in Georgia. Our locations include Atlanta, College Park, Columbus, Dalton, Gwinnett, Marietta, Tucker, Stockbridge, Roswell, and the Surgery Center of Roswell. We specialize in offering cutting-edge treatment with a conservative approach. We are growing and are looking for an enthusiastic Workers’ Compensation Biller to join our team. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, highly organized, and will manage all aspects of Workers’ Compensation claims, billing, and reimbursement. This role is essential to ensuring accurate claim submission, timely follow-up, and compliance with state and federal regulations. The ideal candidate is proactive, knowledgeable about WC processes, and comfortable communicating with adjusters, attorneys, employers, and internal clinical teams.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of medical billing experience (Workers’ Compensation experience strongly preferred).
  • Strong understanding of WC claim workflows, authorization processes, and Georgia WC billing guidelines.
  • Familiarity with CPT, ICD-10, and coding.
  • Experience with EMR and practice management systems.
  • Excellent communication and follow-up skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with clinical and administrative teams.
  • Experience in orthopaedics, neurology, pain management, or related specialties.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and comfort navigating complex claims.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare, submit, and track all Workers’ Compensation claims for the practice.
  • Verify claim information, employer details, adjuster contacts, and authorization requirements.
  • Review medical documentation to ensure accuracy and completeness before billing.
  • Follow up on unpaid or delayed claims; resolve denials and discrepancies.
  • Communicate with insurance adjusters, case managers, attorneys, and employers regarding claim status.
  • Maintain detailed notes and documentation in the practice management system.
  • Ensure compliance with Workers’ Compensation billing rules and federal regulations.
  • Process payments, post EOBs, and reconcile accounts.
  • Coordinate with clinical staff to obtain missing documentation, reports, or clarifications when needed.
  • Prepare reports for management on outstanding claims, collections, and trends as needed.
