Requirements

Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
Admission to the Louisiana State Bar and in good standing.
3–7 years of workers’ compensation or insurance defense experience (flexible depending on skillset).
Strong analytical skills and excellent legal writing abilities.
Experience handling depositions, hearings, or administrative proceedings.
Ability to manage files independently while contributing to a team-oriented environment.
Strong communication skills and commitment to responsive client service.

Responsibilities

Managing a caseload of workers’ compensation defense matters, including employer liability, indemnity disputes, medical treatment issues, and exposure claims.
Conducting legal research and preparing pleadings, motions, and briefs.
Representing clients in hearings, depositions, mediations, and administrative proceedings before the Louisiana Workforce Commission.
Evaluating claims, advising insurer and employer clients, and developing effective defense strategies.
Communicating regularly with clients to provide updates, risk assessments, and strategic recommendations.
Collaborating with colleagues, medical providers, vocational rehabilitation experts, and others to achieve favorable outcomes.
Staying current on workers’ compensation statutes, case law, and regulatory developments.
