About The Position

The Worker’s Compensation Specialist is responsible for managing and administering all aspects of EAS worker’s compensation program. This includes coordinating claims, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations maintaining communication between employees, medical providers, insurance carriers and internal departments.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Risk Management, or related field (preferred).
  • 3–5+ years managing workers’ compensation or employee injury claims, ideally within a mid-to-large organization.
  • Familiarity with North Carolina workers’ compensation laws and OSHA reporting.
  • Strong communication, organization, and analytical abilities; proficiency with Microsoft Office and HRIS systems.

Responsibilities

  • Administer and manage all workers’ compensation claims from start to finish.
  • Partner with TPAs, insurance carriers, and internal departments to ensure accurate claim handling and timely resolution.
  • Coordinate return-to-work programs and monitor light-duty assignments.
  • Maintain compliance with state and federal workers’ compensation laws, OSHA standards, and company policy.
  • Prepare and file injury and safety reports; maintain OSHA logs and required documentation.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for employees and supervisors on injury and claim questions.
  • Collaborate with Safety and HR teams to identify and address injury trends and develop prevention strategies.
  • Track and analyze claims data; prepare reports for leadership highlighting costs, trends, and opportunities for improvement.
