About The Position

Worker's Compensation Summer Internship Overview: We're seeking a motivated Workers Compensation Intern to join our team and assist the Workers Compensation department with administrative and risk management-related tasks. This internship offers the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in workers compensations and risk management. This is a full-time (Monday - Friday) On-Site position that is for Surge Staffing HQ located in Columbus, Ohio. Responsibilities: Assist employees with filling out unemployment claims and workers' compensation paperwork. Conduct periodic reviews of safety administrative procedures to assess effectiveness and recommend improvements. Investigate safety or loss-related incidents, preparing detailed reports on findings. Undertake special projects as directed by workers' compensation and safety managers. Aid in the development and implementation of safety training programs for all associates. Collaborate with the management team to ensure compliance with safety policies and procedures. Review reported incidents and ensure timely entry, follow-up, and completion of all cases. Take on additional tasks or projects as assigned by management. Additional Responsibilities: Assist in processing workers' compensation claims and verifying safety compliance. Conduct safety audits and inspections as required. Collaborate with HR on safety training initiatives and programs. Maintain accurate records of safety-related incidents and actions taken. Support the implementation of safety policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • At least a Junior pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Risk Management, HR, or a related field.
  • Must have a "people-first" attitude and thrive in a diverse environment.

  • Outstanding organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
