Responsible for the accurate and timely handling of worker’s compensation data and ensuing interactions, ensuring appropriate payment of claims. Serve as a knowledgeable liaison with patients, medical providers, employers and insurance companies. Serve as an effective liaison between a variety of customers including patients, employers, medical providers and staff, and worker’s compensation insurance carriers. Answer high volume of phone calls, utilizing excellent customer service and time management skills. Obtain applicable patient referrals in a timely manner, with accurate documentation Schedule new patient appointments, obtaining appropriate approvals as needed. Send current, comprehensive work status documentation to applicable employers and insurance carriers as needed. Process all aspects of worker’s compensation patient visits, necessary to receive appropriate payment including documenting and entering all pertinent information into the patient electronic health record (EHR). Obtain and manage approvals for surgeries, diagnostic testing, therapy, and injections related to workers’ compensation cases. Track and monitor the progress of authorized procedures and treatments. Process invoices for Permanent Partial Impairment Ratings (PPI), Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) injections, and Independent Medical Examinations (IME). Maintain excellent working relationship with all physicians, providers, management, workers, compensation insurance carriers, internal departmental and external business staff, consistently demonstrating a high degree of respect and professionalism.
