The Workday Solution Architect is responsible for leading the design and implementation of Workday Human Capital Management (HCM) solutions. This role involves translating business requirements into scalable and effective Workday configurations, ensuring seamless integration with existing systems, and driving HR transformation initiatives.

  • Define and execute the vision, strategy, and architecture for Workday systems to support enterprise HR goals.
  • Work closely with external software vendors and support providers to ensure contracting deliverables are met and properly prioritized.
  • Oversee HR application product and support portfolio to ensure updates, patching, incident, service and change requests are properly managed and prioritized.
  • Lead the technical design and configuration of all Workday modules such as Core HR, Benefits, Payroll, Recruiting, Time and Absence, Learning and Talent Management.
  • Oversee data migration efforts, especially transitions from legacy systems to Workday.
  • In partnership with the Workday Analyst, evaluate, review and coordinate annual Workday release to align new, enhanced or deprecated functionality with stakeholders.
  • Work closely with HR, IT, and business stakeholders to gather requirements and ensure alignment with organizational objectives.
  • Provide technical guidance to Workday Analysts and developers to ensure system performance, data integrity, and compliance.
  • Stay updated on Workday best practices and industry trends to enhance system capabilities.
  • Proactively identify high-value opportunities to automate, optimize, innovate existing and new processes and technology.
  • Train and support users to ensure successful adoption and utilization of Workday solutions.
  • Create and maintain detailed documentation of solutions, including architecture diagrams, data models and process flows.
  • Ensure solutions adhere to enterprise architecture guidelines, security standards and best practices.
  • Architect and manage Workday integrations and data feeds, including middleware coordination and data governance.
  • Bachelor of Science (B.S) IT, Computer Science, Software Engineering or related field.
  • 5+ years Developing Workday Solutions Required.
  • Proven experience in Workday HCM implementations.
  • Strong understanding of Workday modules and functionalities.
  • Experience with data migration and system integration.
  • Workday certification (preferred).
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Comfortable working in fast-paced, deadline-driven environments.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage confidential and sensitive information with discretion.
  • Proficiency in Workday tools such as EIB, Workday Studio, Report Writer, and iLoad.
  • Experience with APIs (SOAP, REST), XML, and Java for integration development.
  • Knowledge of other HRIS systems such as our legacy system, JD Edwards is a plus.
  • Deep understanding of Workday security architecture, including domain policies and role assignments.
  • Familiarity with SOX and data privacy regulations.
  • Strong skills in project planning, risk mitigation, and program oversight.
  • Ability to manage multiple concurrent initiatives in a fast-paced environment.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills to engage with diverse stakeholders.
  • Ability to translate complex technical concepts into business-friendly language.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, especially in data modeling and system optimization.
  • Workday certification.
