Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, HRIS, or related field.
  • 3–5 years of experience in Workday HCM and/or Finance security administration.
  • Experience in managing security for enterprise systems or HRIS platforms.
  • Familiarity with Workday domain security policies, security groups, and business process security.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Attention to detail with a focus on accuracy and compliance.
  • Understanding of role-based access control (RBAC) and identity governance.
  • Ability to balance security enforcement with user experience and operational needs.

Nice To Haves

  • Workday Platform Administrator certification desired.
  • Workday Security or HCM Certification desired.
  • Experience supporting compliance frameworks (SOX, HIPAA, etc.).
  • Exposure to IAM, SSO, or federated identity tools.

Responsibilities

  • Workday Security Administration
  • Configure and maintain Workday security roles, groups, and access policies.
  • Process user access requests and manage role assignments based on job functions.
  • Maintain documentation of security architecture and access models.
  • Conduct regular audits to ensure least-privilege access and segregation of duties.
  • Utilize strong product knowledge and prior experiences to expertly troubleshoot and resolve support issues
  • Maintain yearly maintenance task schedule for current and future processes
  • Partner with stakeholders to design, test, implement, and maintain best practices for systems and processes within the tenant configuration
  • Governance & Compliance
  • Implement and maintain security policies aligned with IT governance and compliance standards (e.g., SOX, GDPR).
  • Uphold data governance and data integrity within the Workday modules and all integrated applications
  • Support internal/external audits and provide documentation as needed.
  • Issue Resolution & Support
  • Troubleshoot security access issues and Workday security-related incidents.
  • Regularly monitor system performance, efficiency, and usage
  • Serve as a subject matter expert for security best practices and guidance.
  • Testing & Enhancements
  • Evaluate Workday releases for security-related impacts and enhancements.
  • Support testing and validation for updates, changes, and integrations.
  • Documentation & Training
  • Create and maintain documentation on Workday security configurations.
  • Train HR and IT staff on security procedures and tools as needed.
