About The Position

News Corp is a global diversified media and information services company focused on creating and distributing authoritative and engaging content to consumers and businesses throughout the world. The company comprises businesses across a range of media, including: news and information services, book publishing and digital real estate services. The Workday Compensation Lead, will own the strategic direction and ongoing evolution of Workday Compensation across News Corp. The role will partner closely with Compensation leaders, HR Operations, and HR Technology teams to create a seamless experience for managers and employees. The role will combine product thinking with Workday configuration expertise to optimize compensation planning and automation. The role will serve as the subject matter expert and lead for all Workday Compensation capabilities guiding roadmap priorities, designing solutions and ensuring reliable execution of News Corp’s global compensation programs.

Requirements

  • 10+ years experience in HR Technology roles
  • 5+ years hands-on Workday Core HR configuration, including 3+ years advanced expertise in Compensation
  • Success working with Agile delivery and backlog tools such as Jira
  • Strong analytical, documentation, communication and stakeholder-management skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, rapidly evolving organization while juggling multiple priorities
  • A problem-solver who balances technical depth with business context
  • A collaborator who builds trust across global and matrixed teams
  • A detail-oriented owner who cares about accuracy, compliance, and user experience

Nice To Haves

  • Workday Pro certification or prior Workday implementation partner experience
  • Knowledge of Workday’s Benefits and Payroll modules
  • Understanding of Workday reporting, security administration, and integrations
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a quantitative field

Responsibilities

  • Define and maintain the Workday Compensation roadmap aligned to News Corp’s HR and business priorities.
  • Partner with Compensation COEs to evaluate needs and translate them into scalable product enhancements.
  • Drive feature adoption, user experience improvements and process simplification.
  • Lead configuration, testing and deployment for global annual compensation cycles.
  • Support compensation teams and HR operations during planning, audits and real-time issue resolution.
  • Ensure compensation workflows, eligibility rules and security roles reflect the latest governance standards.
  • Translate complex business requirements into secure, compliant Workday configuration for Advanced Compensation, Salary, Bonus, Stock, and Compensation Plans.
  • Maintain documentation for configuration, business rules, integrations and cross-module dependencies.
  • Identify automation opportunities that reduce manual effort and improve data accuracy.
  • Monitor Workday releases, evaluate relevant enhancements and drive adoption of new capabilities.
  • Apply strong governance practices including regression testing, change control and solution integrity.
  • Ensure consistent data and configuration standards across all business units and geographies.
  • Act as the primary liaison across HR business partners, COEs, HR Ops, Payroll, and Technology teams.
  • Lead the backlog management, sprint planning, and user acceptance testing.
