Federal Work Study (FWS) is a position authorized under Title IV of the Higher Education Act of 1965, as amended, that provides part-time, need-based jobs for undergraduate, graduate, and professional students. FWS positions can vary from Peer Academic Support Service (PASS) Tutoring, where students provide additional academic support services to lower-level students needing additional academic instruction, to America Reads Tutor, where students assist daycare aged children with reading, homework or other education support services. Other roles include Clinical Simulation & Learning Center (CSLC) Assistant, which provides assistance in the preparation of simulations labs and organizing/stocking of clinical supplies, and Clerical Assistant, which provides clerical based activities for certain college departments including filing, copying, printing, organizing and other general office duties.
