About The Position

Requirements

  • Must maintain enrollment in at least 6 credits at LBCC.
  • Maintain satisfactory academic progress throughout each term.
  • Cumulative GPA of 2.0 or better.
  • High School Diploma, GED, or Diploma de Educación Secundaria.
  • Ability and desire to work with children ages 2-6 years old; some experience is preferable.
  • Enrollment in Oregon's Central Background Registry and active ORO account.
  • Current First Aid/CPR certification for adult, child, and infant (or acquired within 90 days from date of hire).
  • Current Oregon Food Handler Card (or acquired within 30 days from date of hire).
  • Completion of Safety Set as required by Oregon Certified Child Care Rules.

Responsibilities

  • Help maintain a safe and healthy environment for children.
  • Assist with classroom and playground supervision of children while incorporating positive child guidance techniques.
  • Support children in learning self-help skills associated with caring for their needs and daily activities.
  • Implement and support daily classroom activities such as mealtimes, free choice, story time, and other related activities, following the lesson plan as directed by the Preschool Teacher.
  • Assist with general classroom maintenance and cleaning, including sweeping floors, disinfecting toys and furniture, replenishing supplies, and laundry duties.
  • Communicate positively with staff, parents, children, and others.
  • Assist the teaching staff with implementing a dual language classroom.
  • Help with record keeping as assigned.
  • Ensure proper sanitation and food safety regulations are followed.
